FORD F-150 2021, BUILT FOR WORK AND PLEASURE
The Ford F-150 pickup has been the best-selling vehicle in North America for decades. The 14th generation of this light truck, the 2021 model, continues to benefit from an exceptional heritage and displays a renewed design and an abundance of new additional technologies.
A long list of new features and exceptional attributes will continue to define the new Ford F-150.
Powertrain
A powered by rechargeable electric batteries pickup truck will not be available to the public until model year 2022. In the interim, Ford is ready to introduce a step towards electrification by offering a powerful hybrid version of the number one selling light truck in North Americ . Equipped with a brand new engine called PowerBoost, this new powertrain is a complete hybrid system that targets the best power and torque in its class. Ford engineers have advised it should have a total range of more than 1,100 kilometres on a single tank of gas in combination with the additional benefit of regenerative electrical power. Not to mention that it will be able to tow up to 12,000 pounds. But that's just one of the engines available on this 2021 F-150 pickup. Here is a complete list of available optional engines and available power:
- 3.5L PowerBoost hybrid engine (new) 470 hp (est.) 525 lb-ft (est.)

Design
In terms of style, the 2021 Ford F-150 is considered more of an evolution than a revolution. While the overall appearance of the new truck is more elegant, it is considered a more modern interpretation of the outgoing model. Ford calls this a "harder, more solid look" First impressions indicate that the wheel arches are larger than before, and the truck is a little wider.
The interior also receives significant modifications, including the possibility of an optional 12-inch central screen housing the latest generation SYNC4 system. Ford’s SYNC 4 communications and entertainment system brings new levels of intelligence and twice the computing power of SYNC 3 to help make navigation, music, and connecting your vehicle to your smartphone faster and easier. With the addition of all-new cloud connectivity,
SYNC4 ensures drivers and passengers always have access to the latest information – from the closest restaurant to the nearest electric vehicle charge station!
Another interesting design/ergonomic feature “focuses” on the transmission lever, housed in the centre console. Now it will be completely retractable and, once folded, leaves room for a sliding work table. And finally, the rear seats lift and can offer a lockable cargo space.
Technology and Work
The 2021 Ford F-150 also has a long list of technology and tools to make work and user comfort easier. For example, the tailgate folds down and incorporates a work surface with a convenient ruler for the most common measurements.
Technology also serves safety since the 2021 F-150 will be the only truck in its class to offer true hands-free driving with Active Drive Assist. It will also provide class-specific intersection assistance, which will help prevent accidents when the driver makes a left turn. Active Drive Assist can automatically apply the brakes to avoid a collision.
The list of features and available technology is even longer – as are the performance and customization possibilities. But we will have to wait for the arrival of the 2021 Ford F-150 this fall to discover more.
